-- Joe Colglazier has been involved in production
farming for 34 years. Six years ago he and his sons, Brad and Doug, came across a concept of
biological farming or "Below
Ground Management" and their farming practices have never been the same. "Our first year working with Ray Trent, we ended up using
natural, bio stimulant fertilizer
on about a thousand acres. We had never really thought about biological farming or focused on our below-ground -- It was always about available nutrient testing and fertilizers." "At first we were skeptical of course, but after seeing the improvements in our crop roots and our soil softness where we applied the biological fertilizer, we knew we were onto something much bigger than we'd realized at the time." 13 Bushel Better Wheat with Pro-Soil's Formula of
Liquid Fertilizer "Our side-by-side wheat comparison field also cut 13 bushel better wheat. Every year since then, we have run the product on every acre that we farm. We also pulled some Total Inventory Nutrient tests that Ray recommended. It was amazing how much reserve nitrogen and phosphorus we had in our soils. We have reduced our fertility 30% on wheat and milo and our yields seem to actually be getting better. On our Alfalfa and feed crops all we are using is the bio stimulant with no fertilizer at all and the results have been great. Every year we've used biologicals we've seen major improvements in the root structure and we know our ground is mellowing every time we apply it. Ray has also come to Kansas at least two times every year to do field evaluations and field days on our wheat and milo crops. He's really helped us to understand that our below ground management is just as important as our aboveground, including chemical fertilizers. Our 2007 wheat is the best crop I think we ever had."
